Greetings. That was lovely. Thank you for sharing. I’m new here, working on 1.4. I’ve not yet come across that particular tune in a fiddled lesson. Of course I’m familiar with it because it’s a favourite at a yearly music/camping get together I attend in Nova Scotia, Canada. I’m from New Brunswick by the way.

Hello! I’ve never posted here, but I have a question maybe someone could help with. I’ve been away from home and my fiddle for almost a month and I’m having trouble getting back into a daily practice. I tried picking up where I left off and nothing sounds good. Should I go back several lessons, or just keep trying with the last lesson I was on?

Thanks for your reply, Debbie! Jocelyn was working on bowing techniques yesterday on the practice session reminded me to concentrate on better bowing.

Recording helps so much to pick up on sound and techniques but it really does feel like performing to an audience. The best way I find to overcome this hurdle is by practicing over and over…and…[Read more]

Congratulations on writing such a wonderful tune. I heard it on Laura Staples waltz kit and fell in love with it. No wonder it sounds so good when you play it!!

I learned this tune about 18months ago but it had gone from my regular practice list of tunes. When I started to play it again my timing was out especially on the B part which has that tricky slip jig thing of an extra beat!
