Thanks Carolyn! I never knew there were words to the tune & an alternative title. I’ll look it up.

This is Day 8 and so far the only video I dare to share! I started at 80bpm and this has increased to 108bpm (for some reason my metronome increases by 4bpm!) I’ve been slowing the different segments of the tune in order to be able to play them faster when put back together as Jason suggests.

Jason, I love the sound of the new tune “To You….” very hypnotic it reminds me a bit of Sigur Ros.

I love these videos! Your playing sounds really good at this speed, there’s a nice light & floaty feel to it.

I think that’s quite normal, I remember the first time playing in a group & shaking so much I could hardly hold my bow! If you can, just try playing some chords first or maybe some scales, & just focus on getting a sound you’re happy with then when you start to play your tune you are already focusing on your own playing rather than the fact…[Read more]

Well done Owen! It’s a difficult tune isn’t it with all those crossings? You play it with a nice tempo and driving rhythm.

Sounds really good Kate & your timing is spot on. I couldn’t get on with that tune at all but you’ve inspired me now to have another go!

I’ve been practicing some simpler tunes along with a beat to try & improve my timing & I’ve got a bit hooked by this tune! In particular, the version by Jack White that is shared on the fiddlehed site. This is recorded with the Fiddlehed Beat Central brushes 4/4 & raagini D Drone.
