Beginner Group 5 years, 1 month agoHi fiddle group. There is so much to get right in order to sound good isn’t there? I found a luthier to set up my violin correctly and that has made a huge difference. How are you getting on?

Hi there fellow fiddlers. I am wondering if you try to learn each tune by heart before moving on. Hi Barbara. I tried to reply to this a few days ago but for some reason it didn’t post. I don’t learn pieces by heart before going to another. Lots of them I use for exercises in whatever different tempo, fingering challenge or whatever they might offer. Some of the pieces I really want to perfect become a challenge and so I’ll move…
